05/25/01 Anaheim, CA, Chain Reaction

w/ Lassie Foundation, Wonderlove, Keno, Smalltown Road

[note]

Jason Boesel played in opening band Lassie Foundation.. this is possibly the first time they met and started thinking about him being Rilo's new drummer.

[review]

the show was way too short (only about 20 minutes)! Of course everyone was there for our lil Kileys, the sound guy should have acknowledged that! After the show I went up to him and punched him in the face. Just kidding I didn't really.

But you know what's good? They "always" leave you wanting more! Those darn Kileys! :o)

Then the best thing in my life happened - I went to Denny's with Dave Rock! (and a bunch of friends) He had a burger, I had the Moons Over My Hammy. (They're a little melty, but DAMN are they exquisite!) Me, Dave, and Eric tried to get the Britney purse from the claw machine but, alas, to no avail.

Dave Rock told us about his shoes. He's a cool guy, that Rock.

[another review]

you know the big guy from small town hoes had the audacity to say, "hey you guys you better stick around for the other bands. rilo kiley they're really good." what a fucking inflated head. as if we were there to see them. bah! we were just staking out good spots to stand.

and those girls with the crimped hair and the homemade shirts with the puffy paint. how sixth grade.

i bought the new, improved black possum shirt, even though i already have the old possum shirt....just cos of that extra writing they put on it.

damn...blake is getting more enthusiastic every time i see them play live. very emotional. of course it was an excellent show. what's wrong? why couldn't they play all of their set...ALWAYS was supposed to be the last song. the setlist said so. death to chain reaction!
