Nitzer Ebb's Bon Harris unveiled his latest project Maven, to a Hollywood audience at the Dragonfly on Friday (May 31, 2002).

Veering away from Ebb's heavy electronic sounds that pioneered the industrial movement in the '80s and '90s, Maven (not to be confused with Manchester's Haven on Virgin Records) features Harris on vocals in a more keyboard-accented rock format. Harris, also a music programmer/editor who has worked with Marilyn Manson, Bush, and the Smashing Pumpkins, is hoping to release Maven's debut CD this fall. He is currently finishing builds on a new studio in Los Angeles and is going to work with vocalist-pianist Linda Strawberry.

In attendance for the show was Godhead frontman Jason Miller, Beautiful Creatures guitarist DJ Ashba, and clothier Terri King -- known for Manson's tour couture, who designed Harris' pinstriped bondage suit for the evening. Also on hand was rock artist P.R. Brown, who directed Maven's video for the first single "The Candidate."

In the DJ booth for the night was Twiggy Ramirez, fresh on the heels of the announcement marking his departure from Marilyn Manson (allstar, May 30). Ramirez remained rather secluded behind the closed door of the DJ booth. Manson however, was nowhere to be seen at the show. (Kastle)
