Postal Service Tour Recap
|
typical setlist for 2003 Postal
Service tour:
1) The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
2) We Will Become Silhouettes
3) Sleeping In
4) Nothing Better
5) Recycled Air
6) Clark Gable
7) This Place is a Prison
8) There's Never Enough Time
9) Brand New Colony
10) Such Great Heights
11) National Anthem
12) Against All Odds (Phil Collins cover)
|
On the first (and so far only)
tour by the Postal Service, the line-up was Jimmy
Tamborello on laptop and keyboards, Ben Gibbard on
vocals, guitar, keyboard, and drums, and Jenny
Lewis on additional vocals, keyboard, guitar,
percussion. For the setlist, they typically played
the entirety of Give Up (in a different
order than the album), threw in the b-side
"There's Never Enough Time", and encored with a
cover of Phil Collins' "Against All Odds".
I'm pretty sure Jenny Lewis was present for
all shows, taking over the parts Jen Wood sang
on the album. One known exception was the 8/8/03
Benicassim Festival in Spain (see below), during
which Jenny was busy with her band Rilo Kiley
performing in Texas.
This gigography does not include any private
gigs at United States Postal Service events that
may or may not have happened, agreed to by the
band as part of the settlement that allowed them
to continue using their name.

One-off festival performance. No
Jenny Lewis. Jimmy says, "Jenny couldn't go on
that trip so we had our friend Joan Hiller sing
her parts and Chris Walla played her guitar and
keyboard parts." |
