[review]
by mikefromohio13...
jenny started out with a beautiful solo version of it's a hit that
won the crowd over... then they pretty much vibrated the building for
a few minutes as the rest of the band set up... talk about BADASS ...then
they rolled right into a rocking version of execution of all things...
I became a fan a mere 4 months ago when i saw them and they seem like
they've exponentially became cleaner, more confident, and LOUDER. Other
songs I know that they played though i didn't get an order include:
so long, science vs. romance, room 8, good that won't come out( rocking
extra hard), jenny you're barely alive(rocking extra, extra hard), better
son/daughter, paint's peeling, my slumbering heart (great rockout),
capturing moods, with arms outstretched (extra long)... at one point
in response to calls for the frug they said "we don't even know
it" and "we had to fire our old drummer because he always
wanted to play the frug"... another awesome new song had a rockout
in which all sang something about "we've come a long way"
but don't know the title... there was another new song (it rocked)after
you thought they were done and about to slam their guitars (spectacular
views was last and then they kind of kept almost letting the guitars
die and bringing them back and it was tight)... there was another long
beautiful relatively quiet (for r.k.) song that i think was new... and
then at the very very end of the second encore they played a beautiful
steadily building song that i have not seen online, but they played
it in april at chapel hill/carborro show and again here
All in all it was a long, amazingly inspiring show and I'm sure it will
get the highest review ratings possible... I've only seen about 5 or
6 concerts in my 21 years bc I don't have much money.. I've seen counting
crows/live, blues traveler, weezer, and smashing pumpkins, and this
was the best concert I've ever had the priveledge to see.
