[review]

The show was so crazy amazing. Mike Runion opened, then Blake and crew rocked some elected. Runion yelled at me for peeking at the RK setlists when he put them out. I think he may have hated me. He yelled at me twice.

Rilo Kiley played the above posted set list, and were just amazing. they were so blatantly into playing this show in the middle of all the shows as a supporting act and there was just a great vibe all around. They played very well, very energetic, and were also very appreciative of the crowd and had a bit of banter with everyone, such as Blake asking the sound guy to turn up the vocals for the people in front, and Jenny bringing up some girl who drove a long way up on stage for the Frug.

Blake gave me the set list afterwards so I don't think he hates me, which is good, because I am a jerk.

I met some RKNetters and waited around for forever after meeting everyone else since I needed Jenny to sign my damn setlist! She finally came out around midnight and told us no pictures. she was still so sweet. Pierre was the most sociable and very very charming. Jason was handsome and very funny and the ever enigmatic Blake was obsessing over how great a very sheepish Mike Bloom was.

I could write way more as it was one of the best shows i have seen and one of the best nights of my life, but I am very tired!

It was a great show. Mike Runion opened then The Elected Came out and played:

Response to Greed
new song
Greetings in Braille
new song

Rilo's set was great. The highlight was hearing The Frug, which I have waited 4 years to hear. it was also cool to hear Patiently live (if only they would play A Town Called Luckey now). They closed with an acoustic Better Son/Daughter. When their set ended and they were walking off stage Blake walked up to me and handed me his pick. Afterwards my friend and i waited out back Duke was already out there and asked me for a hug, jason came out next the blake. I left before Jenny came out. I met a lot of the boardies finally. Amycutthroat, Pennielane, Madison. i also met danegooding and basement noise. good times. so Baltimore next weekend.

We had a lot of trouble finding the place from Harrisburg, but we got there at about 7:53 and parked a few dozen feet away from the tour bus. How exciting. We raced inside and actually had plenty of time to spare. There were only maybe 200 people there, give or take. We got almost right up front by Jenny's keyboard.

As people have said, Mike Runion opened with four songs, then announced a "special guest". Blake and Mike Bloom came out and played A Response To Greed, and then they added some drum and bass for Greetings in Braille and too new songs. (He also confirmed that their album was coming out in January.)

Rilo Kiley's set was so great. It was also so great to be so close. Towards the end when she said "We're going to play this one, and it's a verrry old song, so please don't laugh at me", I knew they were going to play some Initial Friend song, and it couldn't have been better than the Frug. She danced all of the moves and everything.

There's video of this show. The DVD starts with some footage from the openers. 2 songs from Runion, 1 from The Elected.. Not complete songs.. about half each.
It's shot from nice and close up, but like "second row", so the back of Nick's head makes frequent appearances. It's a bit shakey, but not too bad. The sound is ok, but some popping noises at times (I'm not sure if this was just the fault of my DVD player.) It's one long track, so not easy to skip to a certain song. But great performance and fun to watch.
